SUMMARY

A lone barghest who for many years kept to herself in an abandoned chateau within the woods outskirting a village. With the arrival of a reincarnated friend whom she had a hand in his accidental past death, Rein is forced out of the comforts of her self-imposed isolation to hunt for a solution to save his soul.Rein is reserved, meek and loyal to a fault. One of the more literate barghests out there she is very intelligent and booksmart while holding doubt in herself and her abilities. She is kind and loving but rarely will speak up for what she wants.

FORMS

While it is common for barghests to have both a human and canine form; under unusual circumstances Rein may shift into other aberrant forms that is not seen in most others of her species.

Under extreme physical or emotional distress Rein may shift into her Alter form out of a maladaptive attempt at self-defense. It is aggressive, powerful and will lash out blindly.Allowing instincts to take over it can be difficult to calm her from this mental break and the longer she is in this form the more detached she becomes.

ANIMA

Through major growth and acceptance of herself, Rein is able to borrow anima in order to use this form. In this form she can repair damaged souls, and use powerful abilities to fend off enemies. She wields a scythe made of anima that can be used to heal or defend.In this form she is calm, empathetic and effervescent. Releasing the guilt of her past and embracing her love for humans and barghests alike she is stronger for it.

SUMMARY

A nomadic mage who has an unclear history with Rein and Somber. He was reincarnated 100 years after an untimely death with little memories of his past life and a soul that is slowly deteriorating for reasons unknown.Ambrose is a caring and kindhearted individual who is well traveled and astute. He is fond of creatures although wary around those of the supernatural variety. Despite his seemingly soft nature he is no pushover and can be resolute when necessary.Deep down he does fear death and holds an uncomfortable anxiety towards barghests, even Rein despite his affections towards her.

FORMS

While reasons are still unclear Ambrose body hosts a second soul; that of a phoenix. Not much is known aside from it potentially being the reason for Ambrose's unprecedented reincarnation. While the individual beast's personality appears dormant Ambrose is still able to wield it's abilities and form. This has also caused Ambrose to be prey for those looking to manipulate him for their own ploys.

With a soul that is severely damaged and a lost sense of person, Ambrose is slowly molded by influences from Iyarri, traumatic experiences, and believed betrayal from those he trusted.As his mental state decays, Iyarri uses the opportunity to meld his soul together with that of the dormant phoenix to create this malevolent incarnation of Ambrose.His personality has twisted into something far more cynical and cunning, willing to harm even those he loves for the "greater good". In this state he has become condescending, analytical and scornful - believing the destruction of Death will be the world's salvation.

SUMMARY

An estranged childhood friend of Rein and Ambrose; "son" and champion of Pandora. Through torturous grooming and training Somber has grown into a controlling, cruel and power-hungry man.As a child his intense jealousy knocked over the first domino that would lead to the end of Ambrose's previous life and left Rein alone and guilt-ridden. From then on he would only ever serve his own desires and his mother's conquest.He appears to have a particular focus on tormenting his ex-companions rather than facing his internal turmoil or seeking absolution. It seems he has yet to realize what he truly wants or needs.

FORMS

Similar to all barghests Somber has his typical canid form and human form reflecting that. His shadow abilities have a blood-controlling aspect to them that he can use to manipulate the bodies of others, create weapons from and close wounds if he's feeling particularly charitable.Unlike most barghests, but similar to Rein's Alter he has a secondary form that is just as destructive.

PRIMAL

Like Alter, Somber's primal form appears under extreme moments of arousal such as anger, madness or fervor. He takes on the appearance of a massive werewolf, with the ability to stand up right and hulk over whoever the unfortunate target is.His abilities are enhanced in this form although his control over his mental stability and senses is greatly limited. While he can speak, he lets his desires take the forefront above all else - whether that is destruction or something else is entirely dependent on his prey.

SUMMARY

Much like others of her species, Adelaide's primary duty is to make sure the planet's life cycle continues on as it always has. She is a close consort to Lord Aether, God of Reincarnation, and takes her role enforcing barghests and making sure they stay in line very seriously.She does not question the status quo of the cycle of Anima, and knows seraphiern are above the death dogs who do the dirty work of collecting souls from rotting corpses.Rein is a personal pain point for her; a barghest who seemingly has no interest in doing her part and shirking responsibilities - though unlike most problem individuals of her species she seems to be avoiding death all together. Adelaide views her as a rival, regularly attempting to confront her only for the other to evade her - much to her chagrin.She has a seemingly prim, haughty and authoritative personality although there may be more under the surface.

A young Cat-sìth hailing from the kingdom of Norr, Desmond's main field of commerce is as an information broker both for human and mythical individuals alike. He is a skilled liar and gossiper, able to easily direct conversations in his favor. That being said, it is not uncommon to find him deep in trouble with some dangerous folks.He is also a purveyor of cursed objects, more so a hobby than anything but will happily resort to the use of said objects to play tricks, blackmail or bargain with.Not much is known about his background, as it's difficult to decipher whether the information he does share about himself is accurate. With most he is charismatic, casual and deceitfully friendly.
